The open house showcases the national traditions of France. During open houses, the House of France is open free of charge to the public. Refreshments are served. Donations are welcome.

Ethnic Food Fair on Sunday May 24th from 10am to 5pm. During the Ethnic Food Fair most cottages serve ethnic food and free entertainment is presented. The house of France sells French food (e.g., quiche, pastries).
Open house on Sundays June 7th and 14th from noon until 4PM
The Fête de la Musique is an annual music festival taking place on the summer solstice (June 21st). It originated in France in 1981 and is now celebrated in 110 countries around the world.
The House of France, in coordination with other French organizations, invites you for an evening of free music in front of the cottage. Bring your blanket, picnic and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
Open house on Sundays July 5th and 12th from noon until 4PM
Lawn Program Sunday the 12th. The House of France features music, dance, traditional costumes, arts, crafts, and traditional French foods. If you know of any French singers, dancers or if you want to participate in the program on stage, please let us know.

International Christmas Festival at Balboa Park’s December Nights on Friday December 4th from 5pm to 11pm and Saturday December 5th from 12pm to 11pm. During December Nights all the houses come together to share their culture in an event where cottages are opened, ethnic foods are available for purchase with an impressive assortment of dance & music throughout. The House of France sells onion soup, crepes and pastries.
