BONJOUR A TOUTES ET A TOUS!
HAPPY MOTHERS' DAY!
Despite the bad weather, we have a nice turnout for the December Nights, we offered some
bûches de Noël instead of mille feuilles (Napoléons) as well as tartlets (from the French Pastry Café
in Encinitas) and of course we had our now famous crêpes. Thank you Michèle T., Mireille S. and
Marie-France G. for preparing gallons and gallons of batter! We would like to thank also all the
volunteers who showed up to set up the tents, sell, clean up, etc. for this event. We really
appreciated the help from Mrs. Saad’s students; they had the opportunity to practice some French
with the guests, merci à vous tous !
With the new year comes a new board: President: Catherine Bellier-Igasaki; Vice-President:
Michèle Trevino; Recording/Corresponding Secretary: Isabelle Faurie; Hostess Chair/Membership
Secretary: Stéphanie Fossat-Dominguez and fidèle parmi les fidèles our Treasurer: Colette Ricard.
Thank you to Danielle Arnaud who served briefly last year as our Vice-President and to our
Treasurer Gary Jacobson.
It is time to renew for those who have not done it yet. The individual membership is now $17
and the family membership is $25. You will find a membership form on the Membership page..
Please send it promptly, thank you. Your membership is valuable to the House of France; if our
membership is not high enough, the City of San Diego will close us down.
The Chandeleur is on February 2nd. We will be making crêpes at the cottage on Sunday 3rd
(during hosting), please do come by (and it is a good time also to bring your membership renewal!).
Show your support for the French culture.
In March for Easter we will have our Easter egg hunt at the cottage on Saturday, 22 March.
Bonne Fete des Meres (et n’oubliez pas qu’en France, c'est le dernier dimanche de mai !).
In May (Sunday 25), the Ethnic Food Fair. We will need volunteers for the booths.
After our annual picnic at the beginning of June, we will have our Lawn Program on July 13. If
you know of any French singers, dancers or if you want to participate to the program on stage,
please let us know. Last year we had Polynesian dancers.
We need your participation for the hosting, see which Sundays you can host and let Stéphanie
know. This is a lot of fun and it is never boring! Give it a try; bring the entire family or some friends
with you!
