VENEZ NOUS RENDRE VISITE !

 

The open house showcases the national traditions of France. During open houses, the House of France is open free of charge to the public. Refreshments are served. Donations are welcome.

Les portes ouvertes sont l’occasion de montrer les traditions françaises. Durant les portes ouvertes, le cottage français est ouvert gratuitement. Des rafraîchissements sont servis. Toutes les donations sont les bienvenues.

Fête de la Musique (Music Fest) will be making a return soon!

Join the worldwide celebration of music!

Make Music Day is a free celebration of music around the world which takes place annually in June. Launched in 1982 in France as the Fête de la Musique, it is now held on the same day in more than 1,000 cities in 120 countries.

What better reason to celebrate music than on June 21st, the first day of summer? Music is, of course, the universal language that brings people together.

Lawn Program Sunday, July 12, 2026. The House of France features music and dance from 2pm to 4pm at the International Cottages in Balboa Park!

The Hancienda 5

The Hacienda 5 are a group of friends who share the love of music and French songs.

Eva Mather

Eva Zoe Mather is a 13-year-old classically trained soprano and award-winning Carnegie Hall soloist from San Diego. Despite her young age, Eva has performed the National Anthem at numerous major sporting and community events, including the San Diego Padres, LA Kings, Savannah Bananas, San Diego FC, the Miramar Air Show, and the Del Mar Breeders’ Cup. She is also a frequent performer at cultural festivals and community events throughout Southern California. Eva has a special passion for French opera and is currently studying classical vocal repertoire in seven languages. It is her honor to join the House of France in celebrating its 90th anniversary with a performance of Gounod’s beloved aria, Je Veux Vivre, from Roméo et Juliette.

The Rosebuds
Presenting: “The Rosebuds!” Our band consists of a singer, drummer, guitarist, bassist, and pianist. We all met at Mesa Community College and instantly bonded over our love of music. Some of the genres we love to play include R&B, indie, soft rock, and jazz. We perform in three different languages: English, French, and Spanish. Lilou, our singer, has French roots, which inspired us to cover classic French songs and proudly perform for the House of France. We are thrilled to share our sound with the world!

Join us for our Annual Summer Picnic! Date is TBA!

The French Cottage will be hosting a fun, outdoor event at Sunset Point Park in Mission Bay at Dana Landing Rd, San Diego, CA 92109. We will provide baguettes, merguez sausages (and a vegetarian alternative), drinks, coffee, and dessert.

Bring a dish to share, chairs, and bring your favorite outdoor games: pétanque, croquet, or a frisbee!
